Spending time on my bike has always been such a wonderful time for me it’s where my interest in photography began. Then as it does for many of us time and the distractions of life got in the way and even although photography became how I would earn my living I just forgot how much cycling meant to me until I got to the point where my health began to nosedive and I finally woke up. I got back on my bike.
These photos are not taken on my fancy camera they are taken while out on the bike grabbing what ever nature is revealing to me at the time I am travelling through it, they are not preplanned they are reactions to the light on offer in that moment, and for me a person that usually plans out shoots who sets lights reflectors and constructs the set its a wonderful freeing experience just rolling along and seeing what unfolds…….bliss. While these images work well in colour stripping away that colour gives them a whole new feel I hope you enjoy these wee shots and hopefully it will make you feel like dusting off your own bike and oiling the chain and turning the cranks once more.
